Jacqueline paints from a very treasured place within when she is in a garden setting. Very early in her childhood, she would follow her father around picking mushrooms in the fields, tilling the soil in the backyard, gathering scallops along the shoals of Balboa Island and Peninsula. Fishing off the Newport Beach Pier with her father before railings existed. Standing behind him with her hand placed on his shoulder for hours as he sat fishing on a bench so he would know where she was at all times as he fished. Then return home to prepare his French chef cuisine. Harvest from the garden was picked fresh daily and into the kitchen for preparation within hours. Gardens and harvest are a great joy for her to capture on linen.
